Best Buddies Club (BBC)

Best Buddies allows students of various backgrounds to create lasting friendships through social opportunities. The purpose of the club is to create one-on-one friendships and leadership opportunities for all students at Mill Creek. Students with special needs, or buddies, along with general education peers, or peer buddies, have the opportunity to hang out at socials in order to spend time with one another and make new friends within the Mill Creek community.

A desire to be a part of a group comprised of all students who enjoy spending time together and getting to know people of a different background.

Meetings for the club are as scheduled to discuss advocacy efforts and answer general questions. This is where we learn about various disabilities during their awareness month, spread the word to end the word, and Special Olympic opportunities. All buddies are invited to attend. Socials are held once a month and will be announced. Evening activities will be announced. You are expected to visit your friends at least one time per week. We plan on holding extra events, such as bowling, going to the movies, etc. throughout the year if everyone is interested.

After school get activities such as game day, craft day, karaoke, parties, etc., as well as evening activities such as banquets, attendance to sporting events and other school activities.

Time Commitment:
2 - 4+ hours per month.
