Debate Club

Any student that is interested in learning about and participating in debate is eligible to be a member of the Debate Club.  

 Applications:  Please complete and return your application (see attachment below) to Mrs. Waddell in B111.

Meetings: Our meetings will be on Tuesdays from 2:20-3:15 in Mrs. Waddell's room (B111) beginning September 4. Please sign up to receive notifications on debate topics via text at the meeting.

 Fees:  The annual club fee is $25.00 payable via

The Mill Creek Debate Club offers participating students a unique opportunity to learn about and practice in the following areas:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Congressional Debate
Extemporaneous Speaking
Public Forum
Original Oratory
Impromptu Speaking

 Mission Statement:  

The Mill Creek High School Debate Club believes communication skills are essential for empowering youth to become engaged citizens, skilled professionals, and honorable leaders in our society.  The club exists in order to further develop educational skills of its members by actively participating in debates and speaking competitions with peers.  The benefits of these activities include improved grades, research, communication, and critical thinking skills.  Members will have access to a diversity of debate and public speaking opportunities, both as observers and as participants.
