The chapter of the Société honoraire de français recognizes outstanding scholarship in the study of French language through selection for membership, the wearing of the blue honors cord at graduation, and the right to wear the official pins of the honor society. The chapter provides a vehicle for focusing activities around French language, literature, and culture. It also provides an opportunity for students to experience leadership in serving as officers, directing the initiation ceremony, and/or leading other chapter events.


Students who meet the following requirements will be given an invitation and contract in the Spring of 2017:

  • Be a Mill Creek High School student in French who has successfully completed 5 consecutive semesters in French.
  • Be enrolled in or have completed French III during the year of application.
  • Have maintained a 90% or higher in French during the semester of selection.
  • Have averaged a cumulative grade of 90% or higher for all French works awarded secondary school credit.
  • Have a GPA 3.0 or higher of all high school courses. French may not be used to calculate this average.
  • Have a behavioral record free from suspension, instances of academic dishonesty (i.e. plagiarism), and/or a pattern of inappropriate behavior


Induction will take place during Spring semester (date TBA).
