4th Annual Run for Tajay

Tajay Hoppines was a Varsity soccer player and runner for Mill Creek High School from 2008-2012. During his time at Mill Creek, he helped both programs to success at the Region and State level.  In 2011 he helped the Cross Country team win their first ever Region Championship, and then a week later helped them to place 2nd at State, the first State trophy in program history. Then in 2012 he helped the soccer program reach the State quarterfinals, at the time the best finish in program history.  Both programs went on to even more success (Cross Country State Championship in 2012, Soccer State Runner-Up in 2014) that Tajay no doubt helped contribute to by his example.

Tragically, Tajay died in the fall of 2012 after drowning during a team camp at Valdosta State, where he had earned a scholarship to run.  However, the example he set and ways he improved both programs continue to have lasting effects. Tajay always gave his best effort, even when he wasn't feeling great.  He also always kept a positive attitude, and that was contagious with his teammates. His competitive spirit, and determination to never give up will always exemplify what both teams strive for. His legacy lives on in both programs.
