2018 Youth Awards, Deadline Oct. 15

Elibibility:  Senior who is graduating in the spring of 2019; min GPA 3.0; must enroll in an accredited high education institution in 2019-2020; be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines); if selected, attendance to regional awards ceremony is mandatory and travel is at the recipients expense; be a U.S. permanent resident, US Citizen or qualify under the DACA

Youth Awards honors Latino high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories including: Business & Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Education, Healthcare & Science, Media & Entertainment, and Technology & Engineering.


 The following (2) scholarships are for Davidson College only:


The John M. Belk Scholarship, Davidson’s flagship merit program, covers the comprehensive costs of attending Davidson (room, board, tuition and fees) – valued in 2018-19 at over $65,000.

Belk Scholars are game changers – recognized for outstanding intellectual ability, leadership skill, commitment to service, personal vigor, and potential for impact.

  • Nomination Deadline (your school may nominate one or two students) – November 9, 2018.
  • Nominees’ Admission Application Deadline – December 3, 2018.


The Lowell Bryan Scholarshipsare offered to two scholar-athletes (one woman and one man) in each entering class and valued at $35,000 annually.

Bryan Scholars are chosen on the basis of academic and personal excellence and potential for impact in their sport in Davidson’s NCAA Division I athletic program.

  • Nomination Deadline (your school may nominate up to three students) – September 20, 2018.
  • Nominees’ Admission Application Deadline – must be completed and received in our office no later than 5:00 p.m., October 15, 2018.

Finalists will participate in selection interviews on campus on October 28, 2018.


The Elks National Foundation 2019 Most Valuable Student, Deadline Nov. 15

Award: (500) 4-years scholarships ranging from $1,000/yr to $12,000/year;

scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen.

  • The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2019 competition.
  • · Male and female students compete separately.
  • · Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

 Earn scholarship dollars for good grades and achievements. 

On students, as early as 9th grade, are able to earn scholarship money from 140 partner colleges for academic and extracurricular achievements before they apply.  These bite-sized scholarships are called micro-scholarships and they add up quick!

When students add achievements to their Portfolio on, they earn Micro-Scholarships from the partner colleges that they are following.  These achievements include good grades, participating in clubs, playing on a sports team, volunteering,visiting a college campus, and much more. Students can also include AP or IB courses, honors classes, and college-level courses.
